Having lived life to the fullest, Marguerite Scott Monahan, at the age of 96, died peacefully in Montreal on Friday February 9th, 2024, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, after her last battle with illness.
Born in Montreal on September 9th, 1927, the third of eight children, to George Scott and Marguerite Vander Haeghe Scott.
Marguerite was an active member of Holy Family Parish and generously gave her time and energy to many of its projects.
Marguerite loved parties and social gatherings and everything that went with it: hosting, decorating, dancing, and sharing food. At the residence where she lived the last 12 years of her life, she played games, taught social dancing, and dressed up for their Halloween event, often winning first prize.
Marguerite will always be remembered for her energy, determination, positive attitude, and ready smile. She will be missed every day and her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who love her.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Deborah Monahan, her sister Doreen Scott (Sister of Saint Anne), and many beloved nieces and nephews, including her godchildren Marguerite Wall and Richard Scott.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Monahan, her companion James (Jim) Boucher, and her siblings George, Patricia, Earle, Clara, Jacqueline, and John.
