C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de William Henry Allan (Bill) survenu le 15 mars 2023, à l’âge de 87 ans.
Outre sa conjointe Nicole LeBlanc, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Glenn Allan (Sylvie Hatin), Nancy Allan (Baird Alford,) et Oliver Ghyczy-Allan (Rachel Dessureault), ses petits-enfants : Patrick (Nissa Thomas), Clara, Nicolas et son arrière-petite fille Zohana.
Il laisse également dans le deuil sa demi-sœur Judy, ses neveux et nièces ainsi que plusieurs parents et amis dont les membres de la famille LeBlanc
William a marqué l’histoire en étant le premier homme noir à être embauché à Radio-Canada (Montréal) où il a œuvré pendant plus de 30 ans à titre de cameraman. Passionné de musique de jazz, joueur d’échecs de haut niveau qu’il enseigna à des adultes et en milieu scolaire, photographe émérite, amoureux de la nature dont il ne cessait de contempler l’évolution, cet homme était doté d’un charme et d’un sourire mémorables.
La famille recevra les condoléances le samedi 22 avril 2023, de 10 h à 16 h à la

It is with sadness that we announce the death of William Henry Allan (Bill) on March 15, 2023, at the age of 87.
Besides his spouse Nicole LeBlanc, he is survived by his children: Glenn Allan (Sylvie Hatin), Nancy Allan (Baird Alford,) and Oliver Ghyczy-Allan (Rachel Dessureault), his grandchildren: Patrick (Nissa Thomas), Clara , Nicolas and his great-granddaughter Zohana.
He also leaves to mourn his half-sister Judy, his nephews and nieces as well as several relatives and friends including members of the LeBlanc family.
William made history by being the first black man to be hired at Radio-Canada (Montreal) where he worked for more than 30 years as a cameraman. Passionate about jazz music, high-level chess player which he taught to adults and in schools, distinguished photographer, lover of nature whose evolution he never ceased to contemplate, this man was endowed with a charm and a memorable smile.
