My sincere condolences to the family. Mr. Ishmael was one of my favourite teachers at Riverdale. He encouraged us to discuss what we were learning in history class and he inspired respect.

Mr. Ishmael was a wonderful math teacher. He taught me 60 years ago and when I became a teacher I often thought of him. If a student wrote a long and convoluted geometry proof on the blackboard , when he knew there was a simpler more direct way, he would say “ That is like using a steam roller to crush a nut !”
My condolences to his family and friends.

I will always be grateful to Mr Ishmael for being a very kind thoughtful Math teacher. He knew certain students struggled with Math. He had a way to change our struggles to success. Thank you Mr Ishmael. Rest in peace.
