Passed away peacefully on Feb 10, 2026 at the age of 97.
Predeceased by her husband Frank Jackson and daughter Ruth.
Loving mother of David (Donna) and grandmother of Christopher (Rachael).
Florence was married to Frank for 46 years. They enjoyed many good years together until Frank passed away on Feb 14 1996.
Florence was a longtime member of St. Clare’s Parish and lifetime member of the Catholic Women’s League. Over the years she held numerous volunteer appointments within the Parish and the CWL organizations.
She lived a very active life until she suffered a stroke in the spring of 2023 that left her partially paralyzed. Prior to her stroke she would enjoy shopping and grabbing a lunch at Place Longueuil. She had her favorite shops that she would visit and purchase some article of clothing or accessory. She was affectionally known as a fashionista.
Florence always looked forward to family visits whether we would spend time together in Longueuil or at David and Donna’s home in Aurora Ontario. There were many memorable visits one of which included Christmas in Aurora with Frank and Ruth as well as Donna’s parents Sid and Peggy, her sister Sandra and daughter Brooke. It was a crowded and very joyous house that Christmas.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and meeting new people. She regularly attended mass and enjoyed mingling with the parishioners. She especially enjoyed the many CWL conventions she attended over the years where she would meet members from across Canada. One of her most memorable conventions was the one she attended in St. John’s Newfoundland where she was amazed at how friendly the people were.
Florence often enjoyed a glass of wine or two when out socializing. She will be sorely missed by her many friends and family. The next time you are enjoying a class of wine, raise a toast to Florence.
Visitation at Cooperative Funeral du Grand Montreal, 635 Cure-Poirier Ouest, Longueuil on Feb 25 from 2 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM.
Mass will be held on Feb 26th at 11AM at Good Shephard Catholic Church, 7900 Av. Naples, in Brossard.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation in honor of Florence to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, your local Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
